DSG, question, have you ever owned Vett? For the record, I have and riding in one from NC to Atlanta, about 250 miles, is tiring.
So… because it's uncomfortable for you means it's uncomfortable for everyone? I get that you don't like them and it's obvious a Vette isn't for you.
Question, the last one that I owned was an 04. Vetts seemed to lose value fairly quickly, how did the Z06 hold up?
You invest in cars? Interesting…

First, I never consider a car to be an investment. Second, I never said that I didn't enjoy driving one, just not for long distances. The last one that I owned was an 04, I believe it was sold in 07, however, prior to that one there were several others over the the past thirty odd years. Some purchased new, some used, the used one were a better value.

GM says if you could afford a new model C6Z06 you WILL be able to afford the C7Z06. I think people will be pretty surprised at the price of this car when released. I'm betting it will be under 85k for a 1LT model Z06 coupe.

To those of you who poo-poo'ed me months ago when I stated the price... this is for you!

GM may have another big winner on its hands here.

Aren't the new zo6s heavy pigs? I thought I read 3600lb plus driver weight. That's a tank for a Z. Not impressed. I'll take a C6Z

3524lb for the Coupe. Definitely got heavier compared to the previous generation, but everyone was expecting that. Can't win them all...

Shimmy!!! Bargain as always. It will be hard for any other sports car with supercar entry level of performance to beat this at that price. GM went straight for Porsche, not Viper, GTR, Shelby. Job well done!

I don't think that's a bad price at all. My brother in law paid 74k for his '06 z06. Every dealer he went to wanted at least 20k on top of sticker, but he kept looking and found one that sold him one for sticker.

My fully optioned '09 stickered for 85K, however I only paid 72K. I'll wait and order a 2016 once the forum dealers start offering them below MSRP. I'm not in a hurry.

It's a given that the C6 isn't all that comfortable on longer jaunts, but the question I have is how the C7 compares to the C6 in overall ride comfort. Especially with longer trips (250+ miles). Has it improved? I would hope so.

Wife and I did numerous 1600+ mile round trips in my Z. It's plenty comfortable and I'm a cranky old man. I don't have the select-a-ride either.

I really like my '14 Shelby, but I would seriously consider a trade in or selling my car privately for one of these, especially at that price tag. $78K base is not cheap by any stretch, but within the price range of many of today's American performance cars.
