My car had more in it with the 2.75 upper but as everyone knows, I liked going the weight reduction route just not making my car look gutted. Having said that, that was on a DR and I think my 2.75 upper only with a slick was capable of some .50s. I just didn't have patience as I only ran the car with the 2.75 a total of 3 times at the track before changing to a different upper and adding a 6 pound lower.

I know saying and doing are two different things but some of you can do the math. I know my car would have cut a 1.5X 60 foot with a full slick so cutting a 1.69 on a DR and still running 10.84 on the 2.75 upper... again, I think some of you guys can do the math if I had ran a full slick. Not trying to bench race here, just putting a few things together.

Brian, that list is totally out of date. Tommy stopped maintaining it after he hit his 9.94. Heck, just in the MACA alone, we have 16 folks who've hit 10's with a twin screw and another 3 who've hit 9's!!! Lot of folks runing 10's with twin screws....and Eaton's too for that matter.

I knew that but it was fun imagining for a minute.:lol1: How about full weight Convertibles? LOL.

I improved slightly today - 10.10 @ 140.09, 1.41 60ft...but my trans went on me again...:mj:

How many have you gone through? :shrug: Stock T-56? Sick numbers though. :rockon:

You gonna go for the auto? I think about doing an auto, but I guess Ill wait until the t56 is hurt.

No - I love shifting & she's still a street car. I put 7-8,000 street miles on 'er a year. All the gears work except 2nd gear. Had it rebuilt last year when I broke the 3-4 syncro after close to 275 1/4 mile passes. The T-56 is strong....:beer:


BTW - congrats on your new times - that's awesome!!

Great job Matt! I know you had some high aspirations, but to run like this with a TRUE street car, and hitting 140 mph is flat out awesome!!!

Here's what Antex does before he goes to the track: Change wheels/tires, adjust shocks/struts, load race tune, dump some petro in there, and..........run run LOW 10's at 140+!!! What's it take you Matt, 45 minutes to get ready??

I've seen Antex drive, he knows how to take a car down. I hurt the t56 back 2 years ago with drag radials. 2nd gear was popping out because I missed the balls out of it 2 passes in row. I got it rebuilt with stock parts and its been fine since. I forgot you do alot of racing. You do some bracket racing year round correct?

Close - your forgot about putting in the swing out bars & adjusting the stock seats....;-)

Thanks - yea I detune 'er for bracket racing and just concentrate on hitting

Guess I need to open this thread back up over this way.......We went 10.79 @127 last weekend an we'll go faster on sunday if we make it back to the track.... I posted the slip over at modularfords a couple days ago... Still running the stock manifolds an a 3.55 gear in the rear with stock heat exchanger so high fifitys are doable for sure..... once we get that 1.58 in the 1.48 range.....

my dream is to run quickest time with a pullied full weight cobra which is what? 10.99 is enough? i am hoping to buy another cobra and run 10s pullied only. no ported or twinscrew or even lower. we will see..:rolling:

Well Musclefan, you've got your work cut out for you. It's never been done before. F8LBITE and 94-98 Trans Am have both hit 10's with upper/lower combos with full weight Terminators, but no upper pullied only 03/04's. Corey's run:

Here's MACA's upper pullied Terminators and Jason (04Yellowcobra) just hit his 11.10 this afternoon. His previous best up till today was a 11.34. He has a solid rear and a significant amount of weight reduction. The standard of 6speed/IRS/full weight Terminators has got to be Tommy Goddrey (F8LBITE), who's one of the absolute best drivers out there and hit a 11.30 before he went twin screw.
