We knocked out foot pursuit training yesterday. One more IBR class and a written test on Monday and its all PBT's from there on.

Foot pursuits were nice. Actually got to feel like a Police Officer for a day. Running with full gear and taking people down from a run, making the under arrest etc.

Three weeks until your "real" training starts. Always listen to your FTO, it trumps the academy.

July 17th, LMAO. only difference is we have to go BACK for 2 weeks cause they moved graduation up due to Chief B. going out of town

minimum standards(State class) graduated last week though, they only have to do 480 hrs according to APOST. We(MPD) go for about 6 weeks longer for more in depth training

Graduation date here is Dec. 11th 8 long months for us because we are a night class. I wish I could of gotten a day class and be getting a pay check right now o well it's all fun..

ok, final stats are in. my 8+ weeks of light duty hurt me but didnt keep me from passing.

9 pull ups
48 situps
45in on the sit n reach
210lbs bench
10.52 1.5 mile total score 234.

Not where I wanted to end up but 200 passes so I am a good ways over the minimum at least.

Glad but not thrilled at the same time.

we didnt do the skid car. we have a different defensive driving course. you only do the skid car if you wreck a cruiser and the city's risk management says you need to lol.


in other news, we have OJT monday through wednesday, graduation rehersal thursday, and we do the damn thing friday and get the right to have the badge pinned on finally. found out i am going to 3rd shift southside which i am stoked for. south is a great district and 3rd can be interesting at times.

Had our final range qualifier today.

I shot a 93.7...Damn that 25 yard line!

Also found out I passed the state final exam.

Graduate and get sworn in Thursday at 1pm!!!!

Then its off to the beach for vacation before I hit the streets.

Correction. Its off to the beach and then you start your real training. How long are you with a FTO?

From what I saw on our 20 hour mock work day last week,yes thats when the training WILL begin. The good(?) thing is my training district is the projects. Jumping in head first! :banana:epper::banana:epper::dancenana:

3 months minimum on FTO.
