Yes it was nice meeting you. Glad the friction modifier worked, I guess BBR forgot to put it in your too.

Sorry, next time paragraphs. My mine was going a mile a minute.

I would bring it to Costco to have work done before I would ever bring it back there. I should of listen to many many people who warned me about bringing my car there and then said "I told you so" after it broke.

BBR didnt even sell ID 1000s when my Vortech was installed. Chris swore by the 80s, so I listened.

Wasnt on one. Just wanted it installed right with a good drive able tune.

Lol no test drive could of been done because I took it back to them within hours cause I was stranded 10 miles away.

pics and videos are attached. small 1" lol.... how the hell could it of been dyno tuned like that. yeah and sure on Oct 6 it was driving good. I mean when you go through a hurricane of problems you try to find some positive.
Little did I know in a month the car would need a motor and soon after a tranny. Oh and a new trac lock according to Chris.

Video of when minutes before I got stranded how it was idling.

Picks of the tranny cross member bolts falling out the next day after the motor was installed. Chris apologized and said he was sorry, those are the last bolts that are suppose to be tightened.

Now this is proof of the op showing more than one issue. An the issues that are posted are huge problems that not only cause huge engine an tranny failure but also could of cause an accident if the tranny had fallen on the ground some how.

Ok, lets start off with asking you to please re-read my original response fully. It explains in detail the same issues you keep bringing up.

You drove the car from our location in Boca Raton all the way back to Coral Springs before you had any issues (about a 20 minute drive.) That was the same video you sent to me and I told you to tow it back if it couldn't be driven and we would take care of it right away.

Yes like I started before, the packing paper was an over sight and we apologized and re-dyno'd immediately. Your car dyno'd 630+ rwhp very respectful. The paper was mainly creating air turbulence causing a ruff idle at different rpms

Once again as I stated previously you asked me what would be the absolute WORST case on rebuilding your rearend. I never said that it needed to be replaced. I just told you that it could need XYZ. As far as using friction modifier, we used Royal Purple 75w140 lube which has friction Modifier additive built in when we installed your 3.55 ring & Pinion. See picture below:

As far as the bolts go, we offered to come to you and replace them that same day. Not really sure if it was our mishap or not but either way, we offered that to you and you decide to come grab new one from us.

As stated in my original response, I am still willing to talk face to face and help you out any way we can. Bottom line is like all of our customer,we want you to be happy and enjoy your car.

I have told my side of the story and I am not on the the forums like others. I have a business to run.

Just because you took a picture of the friction modifier doesn't mean you put in to begin with. Just my opinion.

I had my rear 4.10 installed by you guys at BBR and you used that same gear oil on mine and it sounded like a dog crying when i was turning after i put 100 miles or so on it. i dont blame you guys for the mistake because it does say that it brings a friction modifier but you still have to add a bottle of friction modifier from ford. my rear end is actually really good and it does not whine or growl or anything. it was only the clutches making the noise. but hopefully by now you guys are adding friction modifier on top of the royal purple gear oil. i dont believe that op and i are the only people that have had that issue that could be simply solved by adding friction modifier. so please dont post pics of what the product says it has because it obliviously does not work on this rear ends. maybe ford uses a different clutch pack than it used to.

i remember when i had my mach 1 rear end built by promotion powertrain they were very clear and told me not to use anything other than ford gear oil with a bottle of friction modifier. i should had done the same with this one but i trusted that you guys had experience and knew what you were talking about.

He's not saying that Sid. He's saying that just because he took a picture of the product, doesn't mean it was actually used during the install. That should be easily verifiable. Just clearing things up.

I would doubt that Chris is going to lie about the type of oil he used. In any event, if the OP takes a look at the oil and it appears purple it's pretty clear what brand it is.

I'm not siding with either party, just clearing up the original statement.

Yeah I cant think of a single reason either to why the cross member bolts should have been touched for a vortech install............

Was the tranny pulled out on the same day for some other reason?
From what I read it was after he blew his motor then it happened then his tranny went. The OP sounds like an optimist after the paper in the intercooler I would have left. We all make mistakes but there are some mistakes that are easily avoidable and having a check list to make sure all parts are free of packing material is a no brainer

I don't doubt they used royal purple, what I have found is that a lot of rear ends that I built and use products that have friction modifier in them, typically is not enough and exhibit clutch chatter. I have always corrected the situation by adding in a bottle of Ford friction modifier. Other than that not commenting on the thread because both sides of the stories have issues.

Chris, yes I did drive the car from Boca to Coral Springs and it drove like crap, even my brother said if this is the way it drives I never want a supercharger. Yes you did tell me to tow it back, you also said maybe unplug the MAF and see if it will drive. That didnt work. Once I took all the tubes apart in the parking lot of a publix myself, I found the packing paper and sent you that pic. I then called you and said it would run but not good at all. You said bring it up. It ran so rich after that paper was removed that I could barely hit 30mph and it was pouring fuel out the tailpipes. I uses a full tank of gas just to make the 20 min drive back to you. You fixed it, I picked it up again then next day and yes it put out 631 rwhp. No bad considering it put out 401 rwhp before the vortech install, so a 231 rwhp gain from the addition of a stock Vortech with a stock pulley is quite normal I guess. Or was it a super hot tune. IDK.

As someone else mentioned in this thread, why I chose 80 lb injectors, Well they were highly recommended by you. You kinda said the ID 1000s were overrated and the 80s were just as good. Now its funny you only sell IDs.

Last but not least, those bolts were from the tranny cross member after the motor install. 3 of them fell out on sawgrass expressway. You did offer to come to me but at that point I decided to walk down the expressway and find them myself. You did apologize though. No don't wanna talk anymore as its been one bad break after another. I know you got a business to run and I'll let you get back to it.

I just installed 4.10's last week and have zero noise or chatter using Royal Purple alone. I have well over 100 miles in the gears also. And it won't take 100 miles to know you need friction modifier...you will know it 1st time around the block.

If it was that rich I wouldn't have let it idle much less drive it...a 100 dollar tow bill is much cheaper than a motor!!

i would assume that bbr changed the oil after they got the car.. but still that would not explain the excessive heat the pistons and combustion chambers on the cylinder heads had when they opened the motor.
