After feeling a vibration, I noticed that two of the lug nuts on one of my rear wheels were gone. The studs had snapped off as well.
I went to the Ford dealer and bought 2 replacement studs.
Can the broken ones be removed and the new ones be installed with the axle still in the car? This...
I just got the registration bill for my 00R, which is due in November. Because the VLF fund has been suspended, I get to pay the full amount, which is $719.
Did I mention I am moving to Florida? This is the last straw.

I used a tiny wireless camera Velcro'd onto my rear view mirror to shoot this video. For reasons I have yet to figure out, I can't get my Sony camcorder to record audio when I bring in external video.(I did have a mic hooked up)
I've got three versions of the video up, that differ in quality...
I was up at Sears Point on Sunday for the NASA HPDE sessions again. Had a blast, and each time(this is my thrid event) I get a little smoother, precise, and can comfortable go a little faster.
I started having a problem getting the gear shifter into 3rd on the upshift from 2nd. It either...
I was just wondering what other folks with 1st generation SHOs are getting for gas mileage.
My 90 has 77k miles and in city driving, mostly short trips from being cold, and little extended hiway driving, I'm getting on average 15 MPG.
I recently had the K&N air cleaner cleaned which added...
I took the R to the Good Guys car show here in NorCal this past weekend, and wrote something up that will eventually show up on my web site. I thought the folks in this forum might enjoy it.

My 1st open track event, NASA HPDE at Sears Point Raceway (Infineon)
Looking back I would have to say that this past Sunday was the most fun I’ve had lately with my clothes on. One toke on the "go fast pipe" is all it takes to get hooked. The only downside was the extra rubbing I had to do...
I just checked the Kuhmo Ecsta Supra 712 tires I have on my R. The sidewall says max inflation is 44 PSI. Cold pressure in them at the moment is 36 PSI.
Any suggestions on what I might want to run inthem on the track during my High Performance Driving thing this weekend?
I've not really...
I was going to title this thread "Splitter 2, Ed 0" after trying for the second time to get this SOB mounted. To avoid confusion, I have attached a picture that should help you understand what I calling a particular name.(not my splitter, mine's stock)
I begin with my car on the ground...

I've been reading the tech sheets for some open track events, and one of the things they want is more than one battery hold down screw.
When I look down at the battery in my 00R, I see one hold down screw in the middle on the side.
Is there one I can't see? Is this sufficent or are those...
I've been reading all of the rules for tracks, and they require a radiator overflow catchcan. I know the 00R has the degas bottle, and I see the overflow hose runs over to the fender, and goes inside. My questions is does a stock 00R meet the typical track requirement or have those of you that...
I'm just curious what other 00R owner's have done with the small engine plaque that has the car's VIN and build number on it.
Did you leave it in the black notebook binder pocket?
Did you stick it on the valve cover or somewhere under the hood?
Did you stick it on the console or somewhere...
I installed a grill snake today in place of the Pony. Unlike my 01 which is black, I can now see some of the red paint that formerly was covered by a bracket.
The two obvious options are to paint it black(permananent) or to use a little black electrical tape(easy to return to stock) to cover...
Q: What is the proper torque for the lug nuts?
A:
The other thing that was brought to my attention is that the oil filter should be a Motocraft FL820S not the FL802S in the document. Correct?
Does anyone know if the Canton oil pan on our cars has a place for an oil temp sensor to...
Facing the front of the car, the upper left connection on my oil cooler is leaking. The local garage seemed to think the only way to fix it would be to pull the facia off, in order to be able to get a wrench on it.
For the time being, we cleaned the oil off of that area, and I'm going to...
I noticed a rattling sound underneath my car on the drive back from Dallas. The dealer I bought the car from mentioned it, and I assumed it was something on the exhaust.
I had the car on the rack getting the oil changed, and the mechanics looked at the exhaust, tapped it with a rubber...
A group of local Mustangers went down to Apex Motorsports today for dyno runs. My R is stock, with no mods. The SAE corrected values for my three runs were
Run 1 Max Power 341.5 Max Torque 351.0
Run 2 Max Power 340.2 Max Torque 351.5
Run 3 Max Power 343.8 Max Torque 352.8

Did the 2000 R use a different SVT emblem on the rear deck?
The one on my car looks different than the ones I've seen on the 99's that say Cobra underneath, and the one on my 01 whose letters look wider and thicker.
I took the "R" to get the initial smog check done here in California. They had to remove the coil pack cover to attach the RPM sensor, it wouldn't pickup though the metal. This was a visual and sniffer test, but not one of those drive it on rollers tests.
Idle...
I'm going to Dallas to pickup my car on Monday. I've got a couple questions.
Is there a second cigarette lighter outlet inside the console, in addition to the one at the front? My 01 Cobra has two, and I want to run both my V1 detector, my cell phone, and my GPS at at once.
I'm assuming...
I don't have access to the private owner forum yet, but I recently finished reading all of the messages here, and compiling a FAQ specific to the 2000R. The words and stuff in the document are all of the forum posts, where members generously shared their knowledge, advice, and opinions.
